Angkor Wat is a temple complex at Angkor in Cambodia.  It was built by the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city.  It is the best preserved temple at Angkor.  Originally built as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu it then then became a Buddist temple.  It is the largest religious building in the world.
